Spaying and neutering: an enforceable law or infridgement on rights?
Senator Dean Florez (D-California) recently reintroduced legislation that requires pet owners to have their pets spayed and neutered. If you want to keep your pet unaltered, you would have to apply for a special license. Thankfully, all roaming cats would have to be spayed and neutered, which would greatly reduce our feral cat population! Nevertheless, this bill is controversial and has met some resistance by the California Veterinary Medical Association. Regardless, let's help reduce pet-overpopulation in other ways - fostering, adopting, and making sure to be a responsible pet owner!
